1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized Following Putnam Motorcycle Crash: PD

The accident happened late Saturday, according to police.

PUTNAM, CT — One person was killed and a second was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday night, according to police.

Police received multiple 911 calls around 9:27 p.m. reporting a motorcycle accident near the intersection of Grove Street at Tatem Street.

Responding officers found two people with serious injuries lying in the roadway. Witnesses had started providing life saving measures, including CPR, prior to the officers’ arrival, police said.

The two victims, a 24-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were rushed to Day Kimball Hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

The female victim was airlifted to Hartford Hospital, and she was in critical but stable condition, police said.
