Ansonia Man Charged In Shooting On Highway In Seymour: State Police

A man is accused of shooting at another vehicle on Route 8 in Seymour, according to Connecticut State Police.

ANSONIA, CT — An Ansonia man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Route 8 in Seymour on Wednesday, according to Connecticut State Police.

State troopers responded around 6:50 p.m. on July 8 to the area of Exit 17 on Route 8 South on the report of a shooting that occurred on the highway, according to police.

Police said troopers determined through a video captured by the victim that two shots had been fired at his vehicle.

Following an investigation, police said the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Jonathan Sanabria of Ansonia.

Sanabria was arrested around 9:25 p.m. without incident, according to police.

Sanabria was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of firearm, reckless driving, and failure to store firearm – minor access. He was held in lieu of a $125,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
