'Bright And Joyful Spirit': Community Mourns Loss Of 3-Year-Old In Dump Truck Accident

SPRAGUE, CT — A 3-year-old child who died after being struck by a dump truck "was always happy, with a big personality and a wonderfully spicy attitude..."

The child was identified as Cooper Jax Cappizzano, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.

The accident occurred on private property in Sprague on Saturday night.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family.

The GoFundMe was started by Devon Hills for Shea Cappizzano.

"At just 3 years old, Cooper had already filled so many hearts and lives with a love and light that will never be forgotten," the GoFundMe reads.

"He loved his animals and found so much joy in being around them. He loved Spidey and Paw Patrol, and he absolutely loved school. He was so excited and looking forward to starting preschool, with so many little adventures still ahead of him.

"Cooper loved riding with Mom and spending time working the horses with Dad. These moments, filled with love, family, and the things he enjoyed most, will forever be treasured memories.

"Above all, Cooper loved his family and friends. His laughter, his smile, his spirited personality, and the love he gave so freely touched everyone blessed enough to know him."

The fundraiser had generated over $60,000 on 573 donations as of Tuesday morning.
