CT News Reporter Leaves Station For New Role

Veteran television news reporter Julia LeBlanc announced Friday that she's leaving NBC Connecticut for a new undisclosed opportunity.

LeBlanc, who joined the station in February 2025, has been a broadcast journalist for nearly a decade. Before NBC Connecticut, LeBlanc had been with Fox61.

"Today marks my last day at NBC Connecticut, and I’m getting ready to take on an exciting new role very soon!" LeBlanc wrote on Facebook. "It’s been an honor to come back here as a reporter and fill-in anchor after first walking through these doors as an intern in 2017, and I’ll never take that for granted."

LeBlanc did not say where she's headed, but plans to announce it in the near future.

"As for what’s next? The storytelling doesn’t stop here, and it doesn’t take me far," she wrote. "I’ll be doing what I love in a new way, and I can’t wait to share more soon!"

The Connecticut native grew up dreaming of being a broadcast journalist, and working in the industry has been joyful experience ever since.

"Along the way, I traveled to places I’d never been, met people I otherwise never would have crossed paths with, and told stories I’ll carry with me forever," LeBlanc wrote. "Every person I met and every story I had the privilege of sharing holds a special place in my heart. Whether I met someone on the best day of their life or the worst, I’m forever grateful to have been someone they trusted with something so precious."

LeBlanc's announcement has garnered well-wishes from colleagues and fans.

"Julia LeBlanc is calling it a career after more than a decade in the industry," wrote NBC Connecticut anchor Taylor Regan. "Her storytelling has made an incredible impact, not just in our community, but behind the scenes to all of us here at NBC Connecticut. "It’s a privilege to have worked with and learned from her over the last year and a half. And I’m so lucky to call her a friend."

"Wish you the best in your new endeavors," one fan wrote. "We will definitely miss seeing you in the mornings. Know you will be a big success no matter where the next chapter leads you."

Added WFSB-TV's Caitlin Nuclo, "So proud of you Julia!!! Can’t wait to see what you do next."

LeBlanc concluded by thanking everyone.

"For now, thank you to everyone who welcomed me into their lives, and followed along over the years," she wrote. "It’s been the honor of a lifetime.

"And a special shoutout to my family and husband, who have been by my side through it all. This dream was made a reality through your endless love and support!"
