CT Television News Reporter Shifts To Mornings

Reporter Katie Coen, who joined the station in 2022, has moved evenings to the morning shift at WFSB-TV, she announced on Facebook.

"My alarm is about to go off a lot earlier! I’m excited to share I’m moving to the morning team at WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News starting next week!" Coen wrote on Friday.

Coen began her career at the station as an intern, and quickly took on a producer role.

In 2025, she moved in front of the camera, and has covered a host of stories around the state.

"Thanks to all the evening viewers who have watched over the past year+," she wrote. "Tune in on Channel 3 and WFSB+ Monday-Friday from 4:30am-9am!!"

A Massachusetts native, Coen graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, obtaining a bachelor's degree in journalism, and a master's degree in communications and media, according to her bio.

At the Quinnipiac, Coen was an executive producer of the newscast at Q30TV, the school's television station.

She fell in love with journalism in high school in Massachusetts, where she ran the school's weekly news show for 3 years.

Reactions to the move to mornings has been positive.

"Yay! Welcome to the AM FAM!" wrote WFSB morning anchor Caitlin Nuclo.

Added a fan, "Congratulations Katie! You will be a treasure to WFSB!"

Channel 3's morning newscast runs from 4:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., Monday through Friday.
