EAST WINDSOR, CT — We find the latest Hidden Gem in Connecticut tucked into a quiet little spot next to a pond in East Windsor's Broad Brook Village. It dates back to 1892, but has withstood the test of time, physically and in spirit.

Just ask rock guitarist Joel Hoekstra of Whitesnake, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Rock of Ages fame. He's scheduled to play there on Sept. 28.

Welcome to the Broad Brook Opera House.

The opera house plays host to live musical acts from tribute bands to rock icons to regional acts. Comedy and magician shows are also regulars on the schedule, all in a vintage setting.

It also hosts private gatherings like weddings and dinner events and has a full catering service. The opera house can host smaller events in the lower-level Pond View Room if the main room is too large.
