MERIDEN, CT — The latest trip tp a Hidden Gem in the Nutmeg State takes us to the lineage of the state's finest.

Welcome to the Connecticut State Police Museum.

The official name of the venue is the Connecticut State Police Museum and Educational Center. It is located in Meriden on the former grounds of the Meriden School for Boys. The building is now the state police Mulcahy Complex at 294 Colony St.

The museum is a living history of the state police and is open Fridays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m and Saturdays from Noon to 4 p.m.

Other appointment times during the week are available to groups on request.

Admission is free, but donations, which fully established and now fund the project, are welcome. The tour guides and preservation staff are all volunteers.

The museum also has roving archives, like a 1950s Ford police cruiser that travels to special ceremonies around the state.
