Hidden Gems of Connecticut
This time, the Connecticut Hidden Gem brings the state's outdoors indoors with an educational and visual experience.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — Tucked into a corner of the state's Cabela's in East Hartford is the Connecticut River Valley Wildlife Museum. It's a gem with good visual and educational features.
The museum takes visitors on a tour of what to expect in the woods of Connecticut from full grown moose to bears to deer to beaver and so on.
There is even a makeshift vintage campsite. OK it's like a pro campsite.

It doesn't stop there. There is an aquarium that shows off native fish that is popular with the kids.
In the center of the store sits a mountainside animal display in the shadow of a real single-engine bush plane hanging from the ceiling.
