Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In Weekend Crash In Hebron

State police are asking any witnesses to contact them.

HEBRON, CT — A 21-year-old Amston resident was killed over the weekend in a collision on Gilead Street, according to state police.

Police identified the victim, who had been operating a motorcycle, as Dylan Owen Keefe, 21, of 16 Elsmere Rd., of the Amston section of Hebron.

The accident happened Saturday around 7:40 p.m.

State police said a 2011 Subaru Legacy was southbound on Gilead Street and was making a left turn into a private driveway.

A 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, also southbound on Gilead Street, attempted to pass the Subaru on the left side, according to state police.

The Harley Davidson struck the left front quarter panel of the Subaru, then went airborne across the driveway, off the road and down an embankment.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the Harley and suffered life-threatening injuries. Emergency medical personnel rushed him to Hartford Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased, according to state police.

The driver of the Subaru, a Hebron man, was not injured.
