Avon PD Promotes 2 To New Roles On The Force

AVON, CT — The Avon Police Department promoted two officers during a ceremony held April 23, elevating Officer Kay Staszewski to sergeant and Sgt. Jeffrey Gilbert to lieutenant.

The event was attended by fellow officers, department staff, and the families and friends of the honorees.

Staszewski’s promotion marks her transition from patrol officer to a supervisory role within the department.

Gilbert, previously a sergeant, now steps into the rank of lieutenant, taking on expanded leadership responsibilities.

The department publicly congratulated both officers following the ceremony.
