The Investors Center, Inc. in Avon is seeking local artists to display work in our in office art gallery. We’re proud to support local talent and generally, ask exhibiting artists to commit to displaying their work for a period of 3 to 6 months.

Artwork will be viewed and appreciated by our clients, employees, and guests attending office events or invited by the artist. We’re also happy to display price lists and artist contact information—there is no commission taken on any sales.

Swan Publishers and Avon Free Public Library in Avon, Connecticut, announce that award-winning author Peter J. Marzano will appear on Monday, July 20, from 2 to 3 p.m.
The presentation explains the author’s research on the changes in Germany during the 1920s and 1930s that resulted in the rise of the Nazi Party. It also provides information about the German-American Bund’s efforts to create a Nazi Youth Camp in Southbury, Connecticut, and details about Eugenics research in Connecticut, which was supported by two state governors and sparked interest in a policy of sterilizing immigrant women.

Attending is free. While registration isn't required, it helps with seating arrangements.

Students dive into the craft of acting with <a href="https://www.joinperformingarts.org/ourstory" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Michael Lamb</a>, founder of Performing Arts Programs, who has been teaching in the Farmington Valley since 1997. Over five half-days, participants explore scene work, improvisation, character development, voice, and movement in a supportive, encouraging environment. The week ends with a performance share for families.
No experience required. Beginners and experienced performers are both welcome.
Open to families from surrounding towns. Non-resident registration is available.

Acting Summer Workshop with Performing Arts Programs
