Major Jewelry Chain To Open New Store In Avon This Week

AVON, CT — A prominent state-based jewelry retailer will open a new store in Avon this week.

Michaels Estate Jewelers will celebrate the grand opening of its new showroom in Avon Village Center on Friday, June 26, marking the latest expansion for the family-owned Connecticut jewelry retailer.

The new store, located at 25 Climax Road, is dedicated exclusively to estate jewelry, luxury watches, rare gemstones, and other one-of-a-kind pieces, according to the company.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. as part of a daylong grand opening celebration running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Founded in 1885, Michaels has grown to 12 retail locations and two buying centers throughout Connecticut.

Company officials said the Avon showroom represents a new concept focused on estate jewelry and collectible treasures.

"We are absolutely thrilled to bring Michaels to the Avon community with a beautiful new space specifically curated for discovery," DeAnna Syner of Michaels Jewelers said in a statement.

"The new Michaels Estate Jewelry showroom is all about celebrating life's special moments with one-of-a-kind treasures and exquisite estate jewelry that you won't find anywhere else," Syner said.

To mark the opening, the company will offer discounts ranging from 20 percent to 60 percent on estate jewelry, diamonds, luxury watches, and other merchandise. V

Visitors will also receive a collectible "Old School Michaels Coin" worth $25 off a purchase while supplies last.

The event will include food and beverages from local businesses, Dom's Quick Stop and The Bee's Knees Catering.

In addition to retail sales, the showroom will serve as a buying center where customers can receive evaluations and immediate payment for gold, diamonds, luxury watches, and estate jewelry.

The store's inventory will include estate jewelry, engagement rings, diamonds, rare gemstones, and luxury timepieces.

Professional jewelry appraisal services will also be available.
