BETHEL, CT — Bethel’s Wetlands Commission signaled support this week for a proposed expansion project at Danbury-Bethel Seventh-Day Adventist Church that would add a gym and ministry center to the property.

According to The News-Times, the roughly $1.7 million proposal would triple the size of the church on Turkey Plain Road and expand parking near Sympaug Pond. Church officials said the project is intended to create a more community-focused space with activities and programs for local families.

The proposal still requires formal approval from the Wetlands Commission before moving to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
