Robert Palmer obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Robert Palmer 63 of East Haven passed away unexpectedly at Yale New Haven Hospital on July 16, 2026. He was born April 2, 1963 in New Haven to Harry and Barbara (Breen) Palmer. Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Christine (Bradan) Palmer and three siblings; Barbara Raffile (Paul), Mary Marquis (Gerard) and James Palmer (Sandy) along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his in-laws, Robert and Joan (Skinnon) of VT, a sister-in-law, Eileen Palmer and a brother-in-law, Robert Bradan of VT.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Harry Palmer Jr. and John Palmer.

Robert graduated from Richard C. Lee High School in New Haven CT. After graduation Robert obtained his Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales in Providence RI. Although Robert only worked in the culinary field for a short time professionally, cooking was a lifelong passion for him.

Robert loved to travel. Beach locations were always his first choice, with Hawaii being his favorite. He loved to explore new locations and always wanted travel away from the tourism and explore areas that local residents recommended. Robert was a true animal lover and was involved with several animal rescues and sanctuaries, both locally and worldwide.

At the time of his death, Robert was a manager for ICS- Plant Specialists. His loss will be felt deeply by all in the company, especially his wife Christine who worked alongside him.
