With An Unexpected Influx Of Cats, 32 to Be Exact, Cosgrove Animal Shelter Desperately Needs Supplies

BRANFORD, CT — Described as an "unfortunate situation" and one that the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter could not have prepared for, it's now sheltering and caring for 32 cats.

And a few are pregnant.

Shelter director Laura Burban told Patch that the cats "were in a hot vehicle in Branford, and a good Samaritan contacted us to help."

Now the shelter needs a helping hand from the community.

"We could use your help." The shelter posted the plea on Facebook. "We really need cat and kitten food and cleaning supplies."

The shelter has an Amazon wish list, here, from which to purchase supplies.

Folks can also donate directly to the shelter here.

"We have so much additional cleaning to do now, and we would really appreciate any help you all would give in sending supplies," the shelter wrote.
