Bridgeport Gospel Crusade To Hold 5 Nights Of Tent Services This Month

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Churches from across the region are scheduled to participate in the 2026 Bridgeport Gospel Crusade, which will conclude with five nights of tent services Aug. 17-21.

The services will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each night under a tent at 926 State St. in Bridgeport. Organizers said the gatherings will include choir music, personal testimonies and Bible preaching. The services are open to the public.

Programs for children and teenagers are also scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each day and will include games, sports and other activities.

"Our desire is to clearly share the good news of Jesus Christ and offer the people of Bridgeport a message of genuine hope," said John Barnes, an evangelist and director of Northeast for Christ Ministries. "We invite individuals and families from throughout the city to join us for these special meetings."

The five-night event will conclude a three-week outreach effort that began July 27 and runs through Aug. 21. According to organizers, volunteers from participating churches are visiting homes in Bridgeport to distribute Gospel literature and invite residents to attend.

The Bridgeport Gospel Crusade is organized by Northeast for Christ Ministries, a ministry of Gospel Baptist Church in Manchester, New Hampshire, and is directed by Barnes.
