Bridgeport Man Sentenced In Federal Armed Robbery Case: U.S Attorney

The defendant was accused of being in a group that robbed stores and an Amazon delivery truck, according to prosecutors.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 22-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced Thursday to more than eight years in federal prison for his role in a series of armed robberies targeting retail stores and an Amazon delivery truck in late 2022, U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan announced.

Mickyeem Profit was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill to 102 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He had pleaded guilty in October to one count of interference with commerce by robbery ("Hobbs Act robbery") and one count of carrying, using and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Prosecutors said Profit and others carried out multiple gunpoint robberies in December 2022, including at Omega Deli in Bridgeport on Dec. 15; Milford Convenience & Tobacco in Milford on Dec. 21; an Amazon delivery truck in Bridgeport on Dec. 23; and a smoke shop in Bridgeport later the same day. Authorities also said Profit’s associates robbed a Cumberland Farms store in Stratford at gunpoint in January 2023.

According to court documents, Profit and his accomplices entered the stores armed with firearms, threatened employees and forced victims to the ground while stealing cash and merchandise. During the robbery at Milford Convenience & Tobacco, prosecutors said Profit stepped on a victim while holding a gun to her head.

In the robbery of the Amazon delivery truck, prosecutors said Profit and others forced the driver into the back of the truck at gunpoint and assaulted him while stealing packages.

Profit has been in custody since his arrest in January 2023.

The case was investigated by the FBI along with the Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford police departments. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathaniel J. Gentile.
