Flooding From Storm Closes Half-Dozen Roads In Bridgeport: Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A half-dozen roads in Bridgeport were closed Tuesday afternoon due to flooding from the heavy rainstorm, according to police.

"The greatest flooding risk is expected to continue until approximately 3:30 p.m., and roadways will remain closed until conditions are safe to reopen," Bridgeport police wrote in a statement.

The following roads are closed, according to authorities:

• East Main Street & Crescent Street

• Bishop Avenue at the Railroad Avenue Viaduct

"Please avoid these areas, use alternate routes, and never drive through flooded roadways," police said. "These closures are in place to help keep everyone safe."
