Motorcyclist, 28, Killed In Bridgeport Crash: Police

The crash involved the motorcycle colliding with an SUV, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 28-year-old Bridgeport man died following a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV on Park Avenue late Thursday night, according to police.

The Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a report of the crash in the 2500 block of Park Avenue late Thursday. The caller reported that the motorcyclist was unresponsive, and a large crowd was gathering at the scene.

Emergency personnel responded, and American Medical Response transported the motorcyclist to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he died from his injuries at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday.

According to preliminary findings, the motorcyclist was traveling south on Park Avenue near the intersection of Suburban Avenue when he was struck by a Honda CR-V driven by a 34-year-old Bridgeport woman who was attempting to turn left onto Park Avenue.

The impact threw the motorcyclist from his motorcycle, police said.

The driver of the Honda CR-V was not injured.

Bridgeport police secured the scene, and the department's Crash Reconstruction Team and the Southern Fairfield County Reconstruction Team responded to investigate the collision.

Additional details were not disclosed.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Bridgeport Police Officer Rory Anderson.
