Canton Rec To Host Cooking Camp For Young Chefs

Canton Parks and Recreation will host a weeklong hands-on cooking camp for young chefs July 20-24.

CANTON, CT — Young chefs will have an opportunity to sharpen their kitchen skills next week during a weeklong cooking camp offered by the Town of Canton Parks and Recreation.

The "Food Explorers From Scratch" camp will run Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Parks & Recreation Room at the Canton Community Center, 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton.

Designed as a hands-on experience, the camp will teach participants how to prepare a variety of dishes from scratch while learning fundamental cooking techniques.

According to Canton Parks and Recreation, campers will mix, roll, and shape recipes including:

  • Mozzarella breadsticks
  • Wonton cups
  • Fresh pasta
  • Stuffed flatbreads

The program is designed to introduce young cooks to essential kitchen skills while creating homemade meals and snacks.

The registration fee is $190 for Canton residents and $195 for non-residents.
