Growing Canton Fire Cadet Program Gets 10 New Helmets

CANTON, CT — Canton's growing Fire Cadet Program has received 10 new fire helmets to help ensure its members have the protective equipment needed for training.

The Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department recently placed 10 new Morning Pride Ben 3 fire helmets into service after they were donated by Canton Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1.

The department said growth in the Cadet Program has caused it to exceed its existing supply of protective equipment.

"These new helmets will help ensure our cadets have the proper equipment to safely train while preparing to become future members of our department," Canton Fire & EMS said in announcing the donation.

The Cadet Program provides young participants with an opportunity to train and prepare for potential future service with the department.

Fire officials thanked the members of Canton Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 for the donation and their continued support of the department as it grows.
