Nature Center In Canton To Celebrate Author/Photographer

CANTON, CT — The Roaring Brook Nature Center will host award-winning author and photographer Joan Kantor Thursday evening for a presentation combining nature photography and written works, along with the launch of her newest book.

The "Nature in Word & Image" program will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, at the nature center, 70 Gracey Road in Canton. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m.

Admission is free, and registration is not required.

Kantor's presentation will feature selections from her book, "The Magic of Moments," as well as her new work, "Whispering Words Over Water."

According to Roaring Brook Nature Center, the program will explore the natural world through Kantor's original photography and writing, focusing on the "beauty, movement, and quiet discoveries found in nature."

The event will also mark the launch of "Whispering Words Over Water."

An accompanying exhibit will pair Kantor's original photographs with her written work.
