Take A Tour: Canton's Five Priciest Homes On The Market Right Now
These are the most expensive houses on the market in Canton.
CANTON, CT — Canton's priciest listing comes with nearly 48 acres and a house that runs on the sun and the ground beneath it.
It leads the five most expensive homes for sale in town, according to Zillow.com, ahead of two new homes still to be built, a post-and-beam contemporary in the woods and a rustic retreat with its own pond.
No. 1 on the list is 27 & 35 Ridge Road, which hit Zillow just a few days ago at $1,495,000. The 5,622-square-foot steel-frame contemporary, built in 1996, sits on a hilltop on 47.74 acres with views to the east and south. It uses passive solar heat and geothermal heating and cooling, and the listing says it's Energy Star certified and Built Green. A two-story atrium with skylights and an interior balcony brings in light, and a third-floor tower takes in the views. The house has five bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, three fireplaces and floors of cork and glass, trimmed in native cherry and purpleheart. There's also a separate studio with its own entrance and two separate two-car garages.

Just behind it is a farmhouse colonial to be built at 16 Bel Aire Lane, on what the listing calls the last home site in the neighborhood: just over 30 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac. It's asking $1,400,000 for a 3,750-square-foot plan with four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, a wraparound porch, a first-floor study and a three-car garage. It has been on Zillow for 122 days.
Rounding out the top three is another house-and-land package at 23 Red Fox Run, listed at $1,250,000. The seller will build the 3,292-square-foot home on a cleared 4.58-acre lot on a cul-de-sac. The plans call for four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, red oak floors and a three-car garage. It has been on Zillow for 18 days.

It has been on Zillow for 53 days.
Closing out the top five is 50 Dry Bridge Road, a rustic retreat listed at $729,000 after a $60,000 price cut on Sept. 26. The 4,125-square-foot house, built in 1974, has six bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms on 1.11 acres, with reclaimed wood ceilings, skylights and three stone or brick fireplaces, one of them a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace about 15 feet tall.
