Woman At Canton Spa Charged In Canton/Simsbury Prostitution Probe: Police
A 47-year-old New York woman was arrested after police executed a search warrant at a Canton spa following a prostitution investigation.
CANTON, CT — A 47-year-old New York woman was arrested Wednesday night after authorities executed a search warrant at a Canton massage business as part of a prostitution investigation, according to the Canton Police Department.
The search warrant was executed at approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at Luxe Relaxation Spa House Inc., also known as Canton Spa, 325 Albany Turnpike (Route 44).
The operation involved Canton police officers, Simsbury police personnel, and detectives assigned to the Connecticut State Police Bureau of Special Investigation.

According to police, the search warrant culminated an investigation into allegations that solicitation and acts of prostitution were taking place at the business.
During the search, officers arrested Honglan Hu, 47, of New York, an employee of the spa.

Hu was charged with prostitution in violation of Connecticut General Statutes Section 53a-82, a Class A misdemeanor.
Police said Hu was processed at the Canton Police Department and released on a $50,000 non-surety bond.
She is scheduled to appear on Aug. 12 in Geographical Area 18 Superior Court in Torrington.
This arrest comes after similar sting operations resulted in spa-related prostitution arrests in Shelton and Wethersfield this month.
