CHESHIRE, CT — A portion of Route 10 in Cheshire is closed due to a crash involving a utility pole and downed wires, according to police.

Police said Highland Avenue (Route 10) is closed between Schoolhouse Road and West Johnson Avenue. A utility pole was broken in the crash and wires are across the road, according to police.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
