CLINTON, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Amelia who nominated Julianna of Clinton.

How do you know the star local student?

I spend time with her.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Julianna is very intelligent! I’ve known her for over a year now and (I) am truly proud of how much she’s accomplished! Her knowledge of fish and marine life is stellar! This past summer, Julianna volunteered at Mystic Aquarium!

She absolutely loved it and came home each day with more knowledge. At 16 years of age, she is smart as a whip! Ever since meeting this bright young lady, it’s been nothing but learning, smiles, laughter, and growth.

To say I am proud of Julianna is an understatement! I’m beyond proud of her and truly amazed at how incredibly smart she is. Her heart is pure gold! Anyone that knows Julianna is lucky. She comes from a very wonderful family!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Her passion for animals.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Julianna!
