‘No Kings’ March Planned In Danbury This Weekend

DANBURY, CT — A “No Kings” march and community event is planned in Danbury this weekend, according to organizers.
A coalition of local and statewide groups is organizing the event on Saturday, March 28, with participants expected to gather at 3 p.m. at the Danbury City Center Green.
The march is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and will follow a route through downtown, including stops near the courthouse and Western Connecticut State University’s Midtown campus, before returning to the Green.

Organizers said the Danbury event is part of a broader national “No Kings” day of action, which they describe as a coordinated effort to protest federal policies and advocate for immigrant communities and working-class residents.
The demonstrations are being held in cities across the country, according to organizers.

Following the march, participants are invited to take part in a “Dining for Justice” event, where attendees are encouraged to support local immigrant-owned restaurants in the downtown area.
The event is being organized by a coalition of groups, including CT For All, CT Students for a Dream, the Connecticut Democratic Socialists of America, the NAACP of Danbury and other organizations, according to the advisory.
