Approximately 500 Racers Expected At Annual Darien Road Race, Traffic Advisory Issued
Police have issued a traffic advisory for the Darien Road Race, which will impact several roadways.
DARIEN, CT — With the annual Darien Road Race scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20, at 9 a.m. and approximately 500 racers expected to participate, police have issued a traffic advisory.
The race will start at Pear Tree Point Beach. Impacted roads will include:
- Pear Tree Point Road
- Long Neck Point Road
- Goodwives River Road
- Sunswyck Road
- Tory Hole Road
- Delafield Island Road
- Red Coat Pass
- Old Kings Highway South
- Locust Hill Road
- Andrews Drive
Drivers and residents in the area should expect short-term delays and detours along the race route.

Darien police will be positioned along the route to facilitate the flow of traffic and the safety of the runners.
Boat launches from the Darien Boat Club at Pear Tree Beach will be suspended during race hours, 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
