The East Haddam/Moodus VFW Post 3336 'Cemetery Troopers' are hosting a FREE cemetery preservation workshop at the Moodus Cemetery (off of North Moodus Rd) on Saturday, April 25th from 9am-2pm (rain or shine). Learn about proper methods for cleaning, re-setting, and repairing gravestones. This is a hands-on workshop and participation by attendees is encouraged! Please dress accordingly. As of December 2025, the Cemetery Troopers have cleaned over 250 headstones, reset over 138 leaning or sinking stones, and repaired 114 broken monuments in the 23 historic cemeteries around East Haddam/Moodus.
