Rachel volunteers her Saturday mornings at the food pantry — not because she needs to finish her community service hours; she completed those a year ago. She comes to help out because she wants to make a difference in our community. When she is not at the food pantry, she is an active member of the East Haven marching band, as well as taking lessons at the Juilliard School for trombone. She is passionate about her music, but is also called upon to help out at home because her older brother enlisted in the Navy last year and is no longer home to help their mom.

What three words best describe your star student?

Committed, Responsible, Friendly.
