Gregory Erff obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Gregory Erff 65 of Branford passed away August 6, 2026, at Midstate Hospital in Meriden. He was born March 27, 1961, in Meriden to Francis Erff and Margaret Kirby. Gregory is survived by his daughter, Christine Mangler (Nino Armellino) of Branford, his mother, Margaret Kirby of Branford and a granddaughter, Abbey Mangler. He is also survived by his sister, Leslie Stone of Branford, three nephews: Seth Cormier (Ana) of Wallingford, Andrew Stone of Branford, and Gregory Stone of Branford along with one great niece, Maggie Cormier.

Gregory is preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Nicodemus Stone.

Gregory had a deep love and passion for music and film. He was a talented guitar player and singer, performed in several plays, and excelled as a theater actor. He had a great sense of humor and was known for making people laugh. He had a special love for horror films and old classic movies and could always appreciate a good film. Growing up, Gregory loved playing hockey and baseball and always made time for his friends and playing with his band. He cherished the friendships he made throughout his life and loved spending time with the people who meant the most to him.

Gregory was a loving father and grandfather who loved his family and friends dearly. His greatest joy was watching his granddaughter play volleyball and spending time with her. The starring role of his life was being her cheerleader—proudly watching from the sidelines, supporting her, and always cheering her on.To know Gregory was to love him, as fiercely as he loved you. He leaves behind memories filled with laughter, music, love, and the countless moments he shared with the people who meant the most to him.

Family will receive friends on Saturday August 15, 2026 from 9 AM until the time of service at 10:30 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven with burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
