Memorial Services For Retired East Haven Police, SCSU Police Officer Paul Hemingway Set For Thursday

EAST HAVEN, CT — The family of retired East Haven Police Department / Southern Connecticut State University Police Department Officer Paul Hemingway would like to invite members of the community, as well as anyone who may have known or worked with Paul throughout his career, to attend his memorial services this week.

Hemingway passed away at age 73 in March, 2026.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army and dedicated many years of his life to law enforcement, including service with the East Haven Police Department as a K9 officer alongside his canine partner “Baron,” later serving as a detective, before continuing his career with the Southern Connecticut State University Police Department, where he retired as a lieutenant.

Above all else, Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and public servant who touched the lives of many throughout his life and career.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven.

A graveside service with United States Army Honors will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:45 AM at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.

Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery office.
