National Night Out: Bringing Police and Community Together For A Night Of DJ Music, Games, K9 Demos, More

EAST HAVEN, CT — Introduced in 1984, the first annual National Night Out saw 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states gather for a night out.

The annual community-building campaign "promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie."

Sponsored by the East Haven Police Department, East Haven PAL, Mission BBQ and East Haven Youth Services, the family-friendly National Night Out is set for Aug. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the East Haven Splash Pad across from the Town Beach.

Families can expect a live DJ, yard games with East Haven cops, K-9 demonstrations, refreshments, and more.

'Stronger Together' is the event's slogan, with police noting the Night Out is a chance to connect and celebrate community.
