Obituary: Jessica Holohan (Porto Funeral Homes)

Jessica Flanders Holohan, 45, of Yalesville, beloved wife of William F. Holohan IV, passed away on August 27, 2026 surrounded by her family at Yale New Haven Hospital. Loving mother of Maddox Holohan who was her whole world. Sister of Jamie (Anthony) Fortin of Shelburne, VT. Daughter-in-law of William and Felicia Holohan III of Branford. Granddaughter of the late Bill (Betty) Sheldon and Delmar (Rita) Flanders. Jessica was born in Burlington, VT on August 13, 1981 daughter of Donna Metcalfe Flanders of Highgate Springs, VT and the late Raymond Flanders.

Jessica moved from Vermont and spent 15 wonderful years in Florida before making Connecticut her home. She was a devoted friend who cherished entertaining, loved baking for family and friends, and took great joy in decorating for the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite. Jessica was a courageous fighter until the very end and embraced life with a beautiful smile that could light up any room.

She was a dedicated educator who served as a teacher and math specialist in the Ansonia Public School District. During her time in the Lee County School District in Florida, she was honored twice with the Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction Award, a testament to her passion for teaching and the lasting impact she made on her students.

Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven THURSDAY morning, September 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 12:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
