Enfield Honors Beloved Senior Paramedic Who Served For Decades

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield EMS honored Senior Paramedic Rob Lowe after he retired after 19 years of service to the town and nearly four decades in emergency medical services.

The department recognized Lowe during a retirement celebration on Thursday, July 23, marking the end of his career serving the residents and visitors of Enfield.

Before joining Enfield EMS, Lowe spent 20 years serving communities in upstate New York.

In a social media post, Enfield EMS described Lowe as one of the department's earliest members.

"The story of Enfield EMS can not be written without Rob," the department wrote. "He joined the department in its infancy. Along the way, he has not only saved numerous lives, but also inspired and trained multiple new employees and students."

The department thanked Lowe for his years of service, adding, "From all of us, Thank You, Rob. We wish you a long, happy, and healthy retirement."

As part of the retirement, Enfield EMS observed a longstanding public safety tradition by giving Lowe a final radio sign-off, marking the end of his career with the department.

Final radio calls are a customary tribute at many police, fire and EMS agencies, symbolically recognizing a retiring member's years of service before they officially sign off the air for the last time.
