Help Needed To Prep Enfield Community Garden To Aid Food Program
Volunteers are invited to help maintain Enfield's Common Grounds Rotary Garden, which opens this weekend.
ENFIELD, CT — Volunteers are invited to help launch the summer season Saturday at the Enfield Common Grounds Rotary Garden, a community project that supports the Enfield Food Shelf.
Opening Day is scheduled for May 16 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the garden site behind the Enfield Senior Center at 299 Elm St.
Organizers said volunteers will work alongside UConn Master Gardeners to plant, weed, maintain, and harvest crops while learning gardening techniques throughout the season.

The Common Grounds Rotary Garden Project benefits the Enfield Food Shelf by providing fresh produce for residents in need.
Officials said walk-ins are welcome, and volunteers can sign up directly at the garden.

Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring sunscreen and gardening gloves.
The garden plans to continue volunteer sessions every Tuesday and Saturday through the summer.
