The endorsement comes after the pol announced he would seek a second term in the state House.
ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield state representative’s reelection campaign picked up local party support this week.
Rep. John Santanella said Thursday morning that he received a unanimous endorsement from the Democratic Town Committee as he seeks another term representing Connecticut’s 58th House District.
Santanella, a Democrat, announced earlier this year that he would seek reelection to a second term in the Connecticut House of Representatives. He was first elected in 2024.

In his campaign announcement, Santanella said his first term has focused on public education, small businesses, economic development and issues affecting working families.
“Serving the people of Enfield in the State House has been an honor,” Santanella said in the announcement. “Over the past term, we’ve worked to secure resources for our schools, support economic growth in our community, and make sure state government is responsive to the needs of local residents.”

Santanella serves on the Commerce Committee, Planning and Development Committee and Public Safety and Security Committee, according to his campaign announcement.
Before being elected to the General Assembly, Santanella worked in business and marketing roles and later founded and operated small businesses, according to the announcement. He is also host and producer of “Community Crossroads,” a monthly public affairs program on local access television.
Santanella’s campaign previously said he had secured enough delegate commitments to receive the party’s nomination at the May 21 caucus. The campaign also said he has been endorsed by the Enfield Teachers’ Association.
