Trio Charged After Enfield Police Chase, Crash On Saturday: CSP

The Massachusetts men face myriad weapons violations after state police apprehended them on I-91 in Enfield.

ENFIELD, CT — Three Massachusetts men reported to have fled Enfield police early Saturday morning were apprehended by state police and charged with multiple weapons violations, among other charges, following a highway crash and subsequent foot chase.

According to a Connecticut State Police report released Monday morning, state police at Troop H in Hartford issued an alert for a stolen motor vehicle seen in Enfield at about 2:11 a.m. Saturday morning.

The vehicle, which had Massachusetts registration, had eluded Enfield officers and was last seen on Interstate 91 traveling south in Enfield.

At 2:34 a.m., state police reported spotting the vehicle traveling on I-91 north "at a high rate of speed," state police said.

That vehicle then crashed "a short time later," police said, with four occupants fleeing state troopers on foot.

Police said they were able to apprehend three of the suspects, with the search ongoing for the fourth.

A subsequent police search of the vehicle found an AR-15-style, short-barrel rifle with ammunition.

Police said the trio charged were unable to legally carry firearms in Connecticut.

According to police, the following suspects are in custody:

• Rudolf L. Dirx, 23, of Pochassic Street, Westfield, Mass., who was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine, larceny of a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal trover, and interfering with a police officer/resisting arrest.

He is being held on a $500,000 bond and was to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday, May 11.

• Quah Sier Richard Jackson, 23, of McKnight Street, Springfield, Mass., who was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine, larceny of a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal trover, and interfering with a police officer/resisting arrest.

He is being held on a $500,000 bond and was to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday, May 11.

• Damiean Marcial-Alexander, 24, of Massasoit Street, Springfield, Mass., was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle (two counts), illegal possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine, larceny of a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal trover, interfering with a police officer/resisting arrest, and two counts of criminal possession of firearms/ammunition in a motor vehicle.

He is being held on a $500,000 bond and was to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday, May 11.
