He 'Will Always Be A Star': Chester Star Student
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact on Chester.

CHESTER, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Amber who nominated Charles CJ of Chester.

How do you know the star local student?
Younger brother
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
CJ is 13 and one of the smartest and strongest kids I know. I’m not even saying that because he is my brother. He’s part of the lego robotics club, follows in our dads footsteps and comes up with ideas to fix things.
For example, in our laundry room we had our ceiling light stop working. We had a lamp plugged in but you had to be in there to turn it off so we never turned it off.
Well, CJ was learning about basic circuits in school and figured out a way to create a new switch and using wires he tracked it back to the door, so we could turn the light on and off right when we get in.
We moved from the HK area at the start of the pandemic, online school was hard for most kids and him being in 5th grade it was a hard transition. Moving, not getting to meet anyone, I’m pretty sure he didn’t do about 1/3 of the year's school work. Well, his lowest grade has been a 94.
He’s going to be entering high school and he deserves all the recognition. He is a star, (and) will always be a star. Being his older sister and finishing at UConn I can say he is a star and smarter than I was at that age.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
You can call him if you ever need to fix or think of creative ways to solve problems. He also is the funniest kid and most resilient little man.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Charles CJ!
