The Fairfield Arts Commission is a town body made up of nine volunteers appointed by the first selectperson. The commission was first appointed in 2023 and secured state recognition for Fairfield’s Cultural District in June 2025.

According to the commission, cultural districts are walkable areas that include cultural facilities, activities and venues. Fairfield is one of 13 Connecticut communities with a state-recognized cultural district.

The Arts Commission and its Cultural District Advisory Board are also seeking public feedback through an online survey. Residents who complete the survey by June 26, 2026, will be entered into a random drawing in which five participants will receive a Fairfield Arts Commission hat.
