Public Workshop Scheduled In Fairfield On Safe Streets For All Safety Action Plan
Officials are seeking input from residents to help with the creation of the 10-year plan.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield is working with a consultant team to develop a Safe Streets for All Safety Action Plan aimed at improving road safety over the next decade. The plan is expected to outline a 10-year strategy to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities, aligning with the town’s adoption of a Vision Zero policy in 2024.
Officials have scheduled the first public workshop for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, at Penfield Pavilion, 323 Fairfield Beach Road.
Town officials said community input will play a key role in shaping the plan. The workshop is intended to gather feedback from residents on safety concerns affecting pedestrians, cyclists and drivers, and to help guide priorities for town departments, including engineering, public works and planning.

The session will follow an open-house format, allowing attendees to arrive at any time during the two-hour period to review materials and provide input. Activities will also be available for children attending with parents.
According to the town, additional opportunities for public participation are planned for the spring and summer, including a town-wide survey and other in-person events. Residents who are unable to attend the April workshop will be able to contribute through those future efforts.
