Serious Injuries Reported In Multi-Vehicle Crash On I-95 In Fairfield: CT State Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — A multi-vehicle crash Friday morning on I-95 southbound in Fairfield resulted in serious injuries and the temporary shutdown of the thruway at exit 21, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash occurred at about 10:35 a.m.; the extent of the injuries was not immediately available.
Fairfield firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene in addition to state police.

"The highway has been shut down at Exit 21 for the purposes of this investigation," state police officials said in a statement to Patch. "CT DOT has been requested to respond and assist with traffic. The scene is active, and we ask that anyone traveling in the area, please use extra caution and seek alternate routes."
