Swimming Area Closed In Fairfield: Health Department
Elevated levels of bacteria were found in the water, according to officials.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Lake Mohegan's swimming area in Fairfield was closed Tuesday, Aug. 25, due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water, according to health department officials.
All the town's coastal beaches are open, officials said.
When the swimming area at Lake Mohegan will reopen is not known, as it "will remain CLOSED until sufficient test results are obtained," officials said.
