Swimming Bans Announced In Fairfield: Health Department

Connecticut was pounded by heavy rains on Tuesday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Swimming is prohibited at Lake Mohegan in Fairfield on Tuesday and Wednesday, and also prohibited at the town's beaches, due to heavy rains on Tuesday, the Health Department announced.

The temporary closures are due to elevated levels of bacteria. Officials will monitor the situation and issue updates.
