Farmington Town Hall To Begin Big Move This Week
Town hall offices will relocate to the 1928 Building from Feb 13-27, potentially affecting in-person service availability.

FARMINGTON, CT — The Town of Farmington's big move is about to start this week, culminating years of planning and construction.
Farmington Town Hall offices are relocating to the 1928 Building at 20 Monteith Drive,the town announced on Monday.
The move is scheduled to take place from Friday, Feb. 13, through Friday, Feb. 27.

During this period, some in-person services may experience limitations as departments transition, town officials wrote.
Services will be moved in phases to minimize disruption to residents.:

However, response times may be delayed during the specified dates.
Residents are encouraged to check the town website or contact departments directly before visiting in person.
Phone, email, and online services will remain available whenever possible.
The relocation process is divided into several phases.
Phase 1, on Feb. 13, includes economic development, registrars ofvoters, the town manager's office, recreation, and the first round of the development wing departments such as the fire marshal secretary, land use coordinator, and developmentcoordinator.
Phase 2, from Feb. 14-17, involves the assessor, tax collector, town clerk, and the second round of the development wing, including planning and zoning, building official, fire marshal, and engineering.
Phase 3, scheduled for Feb. 18-20, will focus on the town clerk vault and miscellaneous records and files.
Access to records may be limited during this specific period.
The final phase, Phase 4, will occur on Feb. 26-27, encompassing finance, reception, and custodial Services.
The move marks a significant step following voter approval in May 2023 for a $16 million project to renovate the 1928 section of the former Farmington High School into the new Farmington Town Hall.
The Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a special permit application for the renovation of the 1928 Building, located at 10 Monteith Drive, in March 2025.
The 1928 Building, named for its construction year, is the sole remaining part of the original Farmington High School after a new $145 million high school facility opened in August 2024.
The Town of Farmington expressed appreciation for patience during this transition.
