October In Farmington: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in Farmington, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around Farmington this October.

Blue Back Farmers’ Market

When: Sundays now through Oct. 25, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: West Hartford Town Hall Lot | 50 South Main Street, West Hartford

Just about an eight-minute drive away, the Blue Back Farmers’ Market is a convenient spot to spend a Sunday morning shopping local. Visitors can browse fresh fruits and vegetables, free-range meat, coffee, bagels and other goods while enjoying live music and rotating activities. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Sunday through the end of its season.

Farmington Valley Music Festival

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Dunning Lake, Winding Trails | 50 Winding Trails Drive, Farmington

Music takes center stage against a backdrop of fall foliage and Dunning Lake at the 11th annual Farmington Valley Music Festival. The daylong event features 10 performers across two stages, along with a beer garden offering samples from more than 15 Connecticut breweries, food trucks and a vendor village. Advance tickets start at $30 for member adults and $40 for nonmember adults, with discounted children's admission, and tickets are nonrefundable.

Ghost Walk Tours

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, 12 to 4 p.m.
Where: Memento Mori Cemetery | Main Street, Farmington

Farmington's past comes back to life during the Ghost Walk Tours at Memento Mori Cemetery, where costumed interpreters share stories of the town's colonial and Revolutionary War-era residents. Tours depart throughout the afternoon, and the experience is recommended for ages 12 and older. Tickets are $20 for Stanley-Whitman House members and $25 for nonmembers, and if it rains, the program will move to the Stanley-Whitman House.

2026 Halloween And Horses

When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, 12 to 4 p.m.
Where: Farmington Polo Club | 162 Town Farm Road, Farmington

Costumes aren't just for people at 2026 Halloween & Horses, which brings an arena polo match and dog costume contest to the Farmington Polo Club. Gates open at noon ahead of the 1 p.m. match, with food truck concessions and drinks available for purchase. General admission car passes cost $20 and cover everyone in the vehicle plus parking, while tailgate spots must be reserved online in advance.

Halloween On The Hill 2026

When: Saturday, October 31, 2026, 12 to 4 p.m.
Where: Hill-Stead Museum | 35 Mountain Road, Farmington

Little witches, ghosts and goblins can roam the grounds of Hill-Stead Museum during Halloween On The Hill 2026. Families can follow the Pond Loop in search of treats and surprises, hop aboard a hayride and launch pumpkins from a slingshot to help feed the museum's sheep. Tickets are $5 for adults and children ages 2 and older or $20 per carload.
