How does a concert pianist, who graduated first in his class, played concerts on 4 continents, filmed 3 television shows for PBS and recorded 27 CDs, celebrate turning 70?
He returns to his hometown to give a concert of his favorite music!
Paul Bisaccia returns to East Hartford to give a concert of music he has been associated with throughout his career. He can trace his teachers all the way back to Liszt, so of course there will be Liszt – the lion of the keyboard.Paul’s teacher and mentor, Luiz de Moura Castro once said, “I find Chopin indispensable.” So there will be Chopin Waltzes and Nocturnes. And of course there will be Gershwin. Paul has played Rhapsody in Blue all over the world, in New York on the spot where Gershwin himself first premiered it, and for his PBS television show. In 1964 Paul played at the Wickham Library in East Hartford. He has been playing in his hometown ever since!
The East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts presents Paul in a FREE concert, on Saturday, April 18 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, at First Congregational Church, 837 Main Street.
