The celebration had been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, at Riverfront Park. The town said the decision was made with the safety of guests, vendors, performers, staff and others involved in the event as the top priority. Officials are working to secure a new date and said details will be announced once they are confirmed. The event is part of local observances marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Consumer Reports Auto Test Center

For the first time in our 90-year history, Consumer Reports is opening up its Auto Test Center on Saturday, October 17 for a one-of-a-kind fundraising event. Participants will be able to run or walk on the iconic track where CR tests cars for safety and reliability–a beautiful, state-of-the-art, 327-acre testing center in Colchester, CT. After the race, participants and spectators are invited to stay for a demonstration and speak with the experts who conduct testing on site each day. Proceeds from the race will fund Consumer Reports’ non-profit mission–working for truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace.
Participation fee includes a t-shirt.
