Glastonbury Residents Invited To CTDOT Meeting On Retaining Wall Project
The June 10 Zoom meeting will cover proposed retaining wall replacement or removal projects in Glastonbury and two other towns.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury residents will have a chance next month to hear more about a Connecticut Department of Transportation proposal involving retaining walls in town and elsewhere in Central Connecticut. CTDOT said it will stage a virtual public information meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. on the proposed replacement or removal of multiple retaining walls in Cromwell, Glastonbury and Wolcott.
According to CTDOT, the meeting is intended to give residents an opportunity to learn more about the proposed projects, ask questions and provide feedback to the project team. The meeting will be held on Zoom, and registration is required. A question-and-answer session will immediately follow the presentation.
CTDOT said the projects are intended to modernize roadways and improve safety standards through the replacement or removal of multiple retaining walls in Central Connecticut. The agency has not announced construction yet, but said work is anticipated to begin in spring 2028. That timeline is pending funding availability, right-of-way acquisition and permit approvals, according to CTDOT.

The agency is also accepting public comments and questions after the meeting. CTDOT said submissions will be accepted through Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at DOTProject0171-0496@ct.gov. In that correspondence, residents are asked to reference the respective town and Project No. 0171-0496.
The June meeting is focused on proposed retaining wall replacement or removal work in three towns, including Glastonbury. For residents who want to weigh in, the public information session and comment period offer two chances to review the proposal and send feedback directly to CTDOT before any next steps tied to funding, property acquisition and permits.
