Glastonbury's Shannon Frost Elected to CT Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS) Board
CTMEETINGS is Connecticut's Official Meetings and Sports Event Sales and Marketing Organization

Glastonbury resident Shannon Frost has been elected to the Board of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS) – the State’s official meetings and sports event sales and marketing organization. Frost is Director of Marketing Operations, Special Events, and Special Projects for the City of Hartford. Also elected to the Board this summer wereJeff Pugliese, Director of Community Relations at Eversource Energy, and Brian Shactman, an award-winning Connecticut-based broadcaster at Audacy and WFSB-TV 3.
“We congratulate Shannon Frost, Jeff Pugliese and Brian Shactman on joining our committed Board,” explains Robert Murdock, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS). “They each bring skills and experience that will help us to grow and expand.”
Murdock reported that bookings by CTMEETINGS in FY26 generated over $75 Million in revenue* for the state, as visitors stayed in Connecticut hotels, dined in restaurants, shopped and enjoyed attractions. More than 24,200 jobs* in the state’s hospitality industry were supported, and over $4,895,000 in Connecticut taxes were generated*. (*per Destinations International economic calculator)

·Shannon Frost is Director of Marketing Operations, Special Events, and Special Projects for the City of Hartford. An accomplished economic development and marketing professional in 2025 she made history by being appointed as the City’s inaugural Marketing Director under Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, and oversees marketing operations, supports large-scale community events, and spearheads special projects designed to showcase the city’s vibrant culture and foster local growth. Prior to this position, Shannon was Assistant Director of Entrepreneurial Initiatives at the Buda Economic Development Corporation in the Austin, Texas area, leading local enterprise assistance programs and supporting small business growth strategies. Before that, she was Director of Small Business Development and Strategy for the Hartford Chamber of Commerce, working with businesses, restaurants, and cafés to help them, particularly with navigating the challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. She also has served as the Enterprise Internship Program Administrator at CIGNA, and as Associate Director of the Women’s Advancement Initiative at the University of Hartford. The Glastonbury, Conn. resident received a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Hartford, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) and is a member of ECSU’s Alumni Advisory Council.
